Several options have been added to the Custom menu, described here.
When playing with toggleable encounters (Etoggle
), the “Encounter” setting is used to enable/disable random encounters.
When set to “Auto” (the default), you move at dashing speed and hold Y to slow down. When set to “Manual”, this behavior is inverted.
Setting the “Music” option to Off will prevent the game's soundtrack from playing, while leaving the sound effects intact. This is intended for players who want to listen to their own music while playing, while still having sound effect cues available. (Note that Edward's randomized harp song will still play in all cases.)
For fairness in competitive settings, the implementation of this feature is designed/intended to be lag-invariant. That is, there should be no frame advantage gained from having music on or off.
Note that if an MSU-1 soundtrack is detected, this option is unavailable.
Setting the “Flash FX” option to Off will disable strobing/flashing visual effects in the game, to assist players with photosensitivity concerns.
As with the Music setting, this feature is intended to be lag-invariant. That is, there should be no frame advantage gained from having these effects on or off.
