Cecil is often not particularly useful before becoming a Paladin on Ordeals, but Dark Knight Cecil does have some strengths.
====Black Sword====
Dark Knight Cecil's best weapon is the Black Sword, which can instantly kill enemies that are not immune to Death. This can make some fights much quicker and easier. See the [[status_procs|status procs]] article for details on how this works.
====Dark====
While the Dark ability does not do much damage, it does ignore enemy defense, so it can pierce Valvalis' spin.
